OVERSEAS BRATS AWARDS

Since 1986, OVERSEAS BRATS has been saluting the achievements of "Overseas Brats" by the presentation of awards. Thus far, 112 people have been recognized. And since 1987, all these awards have been presented at the annual OVERSEAS BRATS-hosted national "gatherings." Awardees are recognized in OVERSEAS BRATS magazine and they are listed on the OVERSEAS BRATS website to honor them
and their achievements.

Awards presented include:

Alumni/Reunion Affairs - For those involved within their respective alumni groups who have given selflessly to their alumni group or their reunion their time and energy in an extraordinary fashion. For this, documentation from the alumni group needs to be presented to OVERSEAS BRATS for review without the knowledge of the intended awardee. The award is a certificate. There is no limit on the number of these awards that can be given each year.
Overseas Alumni Affairs - For those who help other "Overseas Brats" to include those not associated with where they went to school or their alumni group, who have made a significant contribution in fostering and encouraging relations among other "Overseas Brats" and their alumni groups. OVERSEAS BRATS determines which "Overseas Brats" rise to these standards. The award is a certificate. There is no limit on the number of these awards that can be given each year.
Most New Names - Between October 1 of one year and October 1 of the next year, there is an on-going contest to see how many "Overseas Brats" an individual can locate through their own networking, or advertising/
publicity efforts. These must be people who are not connected with where the individual involved in the contest went to school overseas or who otherwise appear on an alumni group's mailing list. An address shall be considered a name and U.S. mailing address (includes APO/FPO addresses) submitted to OVERSEAS BRATS. Please note: For this contest to be activated and an actual prize awarded, a minimum of 20 names and addresses must be submitted. An award in the form of a plaque is presented. Only one award per year is given when this contest is activated.
Most New OVERSEAS BRATS members - Between October 1 of one year and October 1 of the following year, there is a contest to see how many new members/subscribers an individual can sign up to be OVERSEAS BRATS. OVERSEAS BRATS will provide up to 20 flyers which can be photocopied without permission. (It is necessary to have the individual's name listed on the flyers so that they may receive credit for that new member.) Please note: For this contest to be activated and an actual prize awarded, a minimum of 12 new members accredited to a particular person must be submitted. An award in the form of a plaque is presented. Only one award per year is given when this contest is activated.
Lifetime Achievement Award - This award, created in 1997, is given to a deserving "Overseas Brat" who in the course of a number of years, has generously volunteered their help to OVERSEAS BRATS in an unassuming manner without calling to anyone's attention their efforts. Only one award, a specialized glass plaque with special engraving, is given each year.
President's Award - This has been awarded every year since 1994 to a deserving "Overseas Brat" who in the course of the previous year, have made a major contribution in the arena of "Overseas Brats" affairs and assisted OVERSEAS BRATS in a way that has made a major positive impact on all. This is the top award given annually, and it is a very elaborate walnut plaque that has special engraving. Up to three awards can be given in any one year.
