My last school was in Zweibrucken. I lived on Kreuzburg Kasern and went to school on the AFB. I was there from 1970-73. My father E-9 Arthur C. Pine has since passed away and is buried at Arlington. Dad passesd on July 21, 2007. I first lived in Munich and attended the elementary school there. Then we transfered to Bad Tolz. I also went to Wurzburg Elem and lived in Skyline and then went to the high school. I lived in building 130. GO WURZBURG WOLVES! In Munich we lived in building 357 C-5. I also went to Augsburg High School when we lived with my german grandparents waiting for housing in Zweibrucken. It was the greatest life any kid could have.
Thanks Dad.

I lived in Sagamihara from 1976 to 1980. Mr. Whitaker was my 5th grade teacher in 76. Went to Camp Zama Middle for 6th thru 8th. Too many names to list, but Kay Lamborn, Alice Hundley, Ashley Lehman, Maureen Vahlsing, were a few I hung out with and have been in touch with at one point or another state side.

We were stationed in Verdun France in the 1960's. When De Gaulle kicked the rest of the world out. We left somewhere in the middle of the exit. At the time Verdun was the longest we were in one place. All my friends were there.

We returned when I was just going into Jr. High. I probably would have enjoyed high school more if we had stayed not only on base but in the service. My father retired the next year after we returned, and I had to learn to be a civilian all of a sudden. So when we got to Fort Lee, Virginia, we stayed in Petersburg so we could get used to not being military. It was difficult. I had been an army brat all of my life. Born in an army hospital and raised on army bases up to that point. I felt like an alien from another planet.

We ended up in Arizona for my Dad's health. I've been here since about 1967. Went to jr high and high school in Tempe Arizona.

My father became a Park Ranger for a local monument. So he traded in one uniform for another.

There are two air force bases in our area. So my mom would travel to the base once a week or so for shopping.

My daughter married an airman and is currently living in Turkey. I watch the headlines coming out of Turkey. She was not an army brat, but the military style is part of our family. You can take the family out of the military, but can you take the military out of the family? So she was dating different men at the time she met (John). I gave her 1 piece of advice in her life she took. I told to forget about the other guy and go with (John). I was right! I think he reminds her of her grandfather. Very military, by the book.

He joined the service straight out of high school. Been military longer than he has been a civilian. Will be retireing in the next 5 to 10 years. Currently something like 20 years. Great guy! Love him like he was my own.

Hi all -

I was at Bremerhaven from 1970-1972. 5 grade to 7th grade (had Miss White for English) Remember when Mr. Pozza went mad and started throwing erasers - Kim Kalish was very upset - I loved Mr. Pozza.

I used to babysit for one of the DJs there for AFN - he did Musicals like "Some Like It Hot" which I was in and he also did Jesus Christ Superstar which I was not (until a later production) in adulthood.

Loved going bowling & to the snack bar. There was a boy named Jeff Brewer or Breuer who I had a major crush on. My best friend was Evelyn Beutenmuller her brothers were La Barbaras. Jeff's best friend was Steve Morris -

Anybody remember the Johnsons? Joel, James, Jason, Jay, or the blonde kid who was a comedian and cracked jokes all the time - once the teacher told him to get up in front of the class and he did - I wish I could remember his schtick - "It's a weird weird world we live in..." I think his name was David P. something...

Going down to the movies on Saturdays was always fun.

If you were there during the Munich Olympics you'll remember the bomb scares we used to have sometimes.
